Britt’s Pet and Animal Taxi is owned and operated by Britt Clapson who has owned the Pet Taxi since 1995.

Please note that it’s best to book any transport during the school holiday periods as early as possible. Surcharges may apply to certain times during the day.

We specialise in all small domestic pet transportation around Sydney and the Central Coast and Newcastle.

Airport pick up and deliveries are available to the Newcastle Hunter, Sydney and Greater Sydney areas with deliveries from the South to Southern Highlands.

  • We can pick up you (one) person and your pet, either from home to the airport or from the airport to your door. Please note that we do not have family facilities and we are not licenced for this.


How do our airport trips work?

We service Sydney and Newcastle airports and can travel from Newcastle to Sydney or from Sydney to Newcastle, if pets arrive at Sydney Airport. We will deliver all over Sydney metro areas and further afield.

Unaccompanied pets

We are happy to organise flights just for your pet if unaccompanied or we can book your pet on the same flight you’re travelling on.

Freight prices to fly your pet nationally

Like with all the larger companies, we can also organise special freight prices for you plus arrange all your pet’s transport needs across Australia.

What you need to know about timings of shipping pets from airports:


  • Trips to the airport can be time consuming. Advance booking is essential to allow for the time involved. You (one person only) and your pet(s) can travel together in the pet taxi or your pet(s) may travel unaccompanied, without you.
  • Animals must be at the airport 90 to 120 minutes before the flight.
  • For overseas/international flights, animals must be at the airport 3 hours before the flight.
  • Airport pet transfers have been our speciality for the past 24 years.
  • We operate an individual airport pet shuttle available by advance arrangement.

We service Newcastle Airport as well as Sydney, incoming and outgoing.

INCOMING FLIGHTS: Accompanied and Unaccompanied Pets

We organise to be at the airport to meet incoming flights around 45 minutes after the plane’s scheduled landing time. (That allows for the time it takes for the plane to unload) Your pet is then transported as soon as possible. Any extended waiting times will be charged accordingly, for example if the flight is delayed.

We do not organise international pet travel.

However, we can organise with a third party on your behalf if it is needed, particularly for international flight pick ups.

International pet pick ups from Cargo in Link Rd passengers will be met there.
We will arrive 1.5 hours after flight arrival.

Pick up fees will be quoted excluding airport duty. This will be an extra charge and will be charged on top of the quoted price, once we have been charged.

Transport Crates

We can hire crates or organise crates for your travel needs. Crate hire is basically the same cost as purchasing them in some instances.

When you travel with a cat we recommend you buy a cat crate and not hire one, as it’s better to move cats in just one container to and from any new home.

(Please note that some international plywood crates are no longer accepted, by Virgin Blue especially).

** Please be advised that the airlines do have a list of breeds they will no longer fly. (snub nosed breeds)in general. Brachycephalic breeds.

at least 48 hour pre-bookings are essential.

Bookings need to be made in advance to avoid disappointment, in particular during school holidays and long weekends.

All special times (outside of normal hours) need prior bookings.

Meeting points will be provided to you for airport collections as our Pet Taxi cannot wait like a normal Taxi. We will try and make these as simple as possible.

Airport callouts start at $100 plus per km fees.

There will be a peak period surcharge of $45 to cover time. Peak time starts at 2.30pm on weekdays.
Flight arrivals after 2.30pm on weekdays effectively start with a $145 surcharge as well as per km charges. This is before other charges.

Waiting times will be charged if waiting exceeds 30 mins from the requested time.
Waiting fees may be incurred on top of the quoted fees at $80 per hour.
Airport pick up prices start from $175. Tolls in and out of the CBD are included (outside peak hour).

We offer animal transportation to and from Sydney and Newcastle airports from all over Sydney and outlying areas, plus we can move pets to the airport from country areas too. Country areas may take some logistics and may require overnighting to prevent stressing either pet or driver to meet tight deadlines.

To Lower North Shore Area, North Sydney, Mosman and Cammeray.
Travel to Hornsby and beyond North.
Travel to Liverpool and beyond.

Newcastle from Sydney Airport, price $480 (tolls included) or reverse trip.
Waiting tolls may occur if parked in the passenger drop off/pick up car park. Charges will apply on passenger pick up. Starting from $10 upwards, depending on the waiting time in that area.
All road tolls will be included where they are needed.
Charges follow fees and charges per km.

After hours callouts may be rejected at our discretion.
‘Peak Season’ is all school holidays and particularly Christmas season and around that timeframe, for example, between 10th December to 15th January inclusive.
